The right choice of glass - Normal glass, crystal glass or lead crystal glass?

The right glass in the right place

On a stylishly laid table, every glass has its proper place. In practice, there are two common variants for positioning the glasses (red wine, white wine and water glasses) which are described briefly here.

Glasses next to each other
The white wine glass is placed exactly above the knife for the main course. The other glasses are lined up, in decreasing size, at an angle of 45°. The water glass is placed below and the red wine glass is placed above the white wine glass.

Triangular form
The white wine glass is placed exactly above the knife for the main course. The water glass is placed on the right, below the white wine glass, and the red wine glass on the right, above the white wine glass.
